Tetram-ethoxypropane is a useful synthetic intermediate. It can be used to synthesize various compounds such as diiodonoradamantane and Salicylates[e.g. Salsalate(S095700)].
Used as medicine and dye intermediates, can also be used as agricultural product preservation intermediates. It is prepared by reduction of 3-nitrop-aminoanisole with iron powder. Add 60% acetic acid and 3-nitrop-aminoanisole into the reduction pot, stir for half an hour, and add iron powder. Heating to 60%, heat preservation reaction until the material liquid osmotic ring colorless is the end point, reduction to 4-m-ethoxy-1, 2-phenylenediamine.
